TTM Success #24 – A Three Time Indianapolis 500 Winner

I know I say that I’m excited about all of my TTM returns, but this one ranks highly.  I figured it would come back, but it had been awhile since there was a success with the address that I used.  Since he’s local (living 30 or so minutes from me) I had a little more knowledge of the area than usual and I knew that he still lived at the same home.  That could have also helped this return take just five days.

Recently, I’ve gotten back more of the football and baseball requests and the auto racing ones have slowed down.  Johnny Rutherford retired from driving the Pace Car for the IndyCar Series after the Indianapolis 500 this year.  I also read that his wife’s health hasn’t been as good as of late.  There’s certainly a chance that it’s tougher to get his autograph going forward.  I’m thrilled that I have this one of the 1974, 1976 and 1980 Indianapolis 500 winner.

I have more that I’d like to get signed, but I will likely wait another year or so.  The last thing that I ever want to do with my TTM requests is appear greedy or unappreciative.  These will all be a part of my collection as long as I’m involved with cards.
