A National #Mailday for #TheAndrewShawProject

Like so many other collectors, I was not able to attend The National in Chicago.  I did take a couple of vacation days, though, and followed along on Twitter.  It wasn’t like being there but it was the best I could do.

Sometime Friday I saw the first Andrew Shaw National card show up on eBay.  The seller was asking $50 for an autographed card numbered out of 80.  Yes, I am a super collector.  However, I am also realistic.  I knew the prices would come down, so I waited.  After a couple of the cards sold, I checked the sales and made one seller an offer slightly lower than the lowest completed item.  He countered, I accepted and so the newest piece of the Shaw PC was on the way.

The autograph is a sticker auto.  While disappointing, it’s to be expected with a card like this.  There just aren’t enough of them or enough time to realistically get the cards hard signed.  That being said, I won’t be picking up any more of these, unless #65 comes along at the right price.

If you like what we’re doing and would like updates when we post new pieces, follow us on Facebook and Twitter. Please take the time and also look through some other pieces on the site.  I’m still looking for more folks that would like to contribute, so let me know if you are!  You can follow me on my other Twitter handles at @kin_kinsley and @DFW_Card_Shows.
