Recently while browsing eBay, I found a relic card from 2011 Topps Allen & Ginter that I had to have! It’s not worth more than a few bucks, but the uniqueness of the relic makes it almost one of a kind.
By looking at the swatch, you may be questioning where on the Tampa Bay uniform this could’ve come from. Back in 2010, the Rays got a little eccentric with their Faux-Back uniforms (replacing “throwback” uniforms since they’ve only been around for 20 years or so).
As you can see from the picture, the Rays had plenty of plaid in this uniform combination. But, unless you bought one of these Ginter relic cards of Carlos Pena, I don’t know that you have any other options to add some plaid to your collection.
Nice find! Even as a non-Rays collector I would pick that up for it’s unique patch.
