An Unexpected Random Act of Kindness Mailday.

I’m admittedly bad about checking the mail unless I know that I’m expecting cards.  The mailbox was full when I checked it yesterday, but there was a bubble envelope in there.  I don’t have any outstanding purchases I’m waiting on and only have one that I haven’t received yet.

The return label definitely seemed familiar but I couldn’t figure out what it might be.  I knew I’d seen a Scottsdale, Arizona address recently, but still couldn’t place it all.  The package turned out to be from Invest in Baseball.  You can also find them on Facebook, Twitter and eBay.

Once I got home, I checked out out and couldn’t believe my eyes.  It was a card that was on my want list, but I hadn’t picked up yet.

It is the Steve Spurrier rookie card and it’s in fantastic shape!  Thanks to this I now have both Spurrier cards from the somewhat scarce third series.  I bought the “In Action” version a few weeks ago.

I’m not sure why, but Sean decided to send this to me and I can’t thank him enough.  Actions like this are how you know that someone is one of the “good guys” in the hobby.  I guess I’ve been lucky, I’ve found a lot more good ones in the last couple of years than I probably did in all my prior collecting years combined!

For about the 65th time, thank you, Sean!  I truly appreciate it!
