August 13 Card Show Pickup #2 – Maybe 3D Glasses Will Help?

Sometimes you see something and you just have to have it.  The player on the card is not one that I know.  That doesn’t even matter.

A quick look shows that this is Jim Root’s only card from his playing career.  Per The Trading Card Database, he has just three cards.  The other two are a 1994 Topps Archives version of this same card.  I would love to send it to get signed (when you see the card, you’ll understand why), but Mr. Root passed away in 2003.

The card in the header photo is not the card I picked up.

I’ve noticed some collectors much more interested in miscuts and printing variations, as well as all sorts of variations.  This one certainly can be filed under multiple areas.  However, it’s all mine.
