BOX BREAK: 2013-14 Select Hockey Blaster

Most men dread a trip to Meijer, Walmart or Target.  While I may not enjoy those trips, I dread them less than most.  There are some card collectors that feel the same way that I do.  On a trip to Walmart a few weeks ago, I picked up a 2013-14 Select Blaster that had been marked 40% off.  I’ve posted box breaks of this product before and talked about how it’s certainly hit and miss.

There’s little doubt that this blaster was on the “miss” side.  Luckily, I never expect much out of blasters.  Two scans with all the cards below.

#4 – Duncan Keith

#62 – Pavel Datsyuk

#91 – Mike Smith

#49 – Nicklas Backstrom

#7 – Evgeni Malkin

#179 – Luc Robitaille

#31 – Jonathan Quick

#88 – Andrew Ladd

#46 – Alexander Ovechkin

#34 – Drew Doughty

#195 – John Muse (ROOKIE)

#FR-16 – Nick Bjugstad Fire on Ice (ROOKIE)

There’s little that I can say about this box being a “miss” that I didn’t say on the previous post about these.  While disappointed, there’s not much you can say.  This particular product didn’t offer an exclusive parallel like 2013-14 Select did.  There is no program like Upper Deck’s Young Guns where even without a “hit,” you actually get a hit.  It just is what it is.

I will add the Muse and Bjugstad to my traders bucket in hopes that someone down the road wants them.  The others will go into my quarter and dime boxes for when I set up at shows.
