There are some downfalls to our hobby. One of them is the shady people in the hobby. My lady has told me that she doesn’t want to buy me cards because she’s concerned she may overpay or just get ripped off. I can’t say in any way that I blame her. We all know that most people are good. It only takes one bad one, though.
Much to my surprise, when she came home Friday, she had a blaster of Upper Deck Hockey for me! I was completely surprised since it was the first time she’d bought me cards. It definitely made me glad that I had a birthday gift waiting on her to get home. Yes, we share the same birthday. Us and Dominik Hasek.
In my first box break, there were only two packs that didn’t have a Young Guns or insert card. In this box, there were three. However, I definitely “beat the odds” on the first. This one was very in line with the odds.
PACK ONE: Filip Forsberg Shining Stars

PACK TWO: Sidney Crosby UD Canvas

PACK THREE: Daniel Sprong Young Guns

PACK FOUR: Ryan Miller UD Portraits

PACK FIVE: Marian Hossa Shining Stars Blue

PACK SIX: No inserts or Young Guns, but did get Marian Hossa and Evgeni Malkin base cards
PACK SEVEN: Malcolm Subban Young Guns

PACK EIGHT: Malcolm Subban UD Portraits (and also a base Andrew Shaw)

PACK NINE: Jean-Francois Berube Young Guns

PACK TEN: Carey Price UD Canvas (and a John Klingberg base)

PACK ELEVEN: No inserts or Young Guns
PACK TWELVE: No inserts or Young Guns
BONUS PARKHURST PACK: Mikko Rantanen & Sam Bennett Green and Connor McDavid blue

Not a bad box at all. None of the “top” Young Guns but the Parkhurst Blue Connor McDavid certainly “made” the box. It kept it on par with the top card I pulled from my first blaster. Most of these will be up for sale in my Sports Card Direct store in the next few days! If you’re looking to trade, I’d need to get an Andrew Shaw that I don’t have in return or I could consider vintage football (pre-1956 or regionally issued cards).
