Hockey Card of the Day – Stanley Cup Playoffs Edition – Day 5

It wasn’t difficult to figure out the player for today’s “Hockey Card of the Day,” but it was difficult to find one of him with his current team.  Montreal Canadiens right wing Dale Weise has just 16 cards listed in the SportsCardForum.com database, and two of those are 1/1s.

While not listed, likely because of how new the item is, the card of the day is the Weise 2014-15 Montreal Canadiens Playoff Postcard. There is currently one listing on eBay for this card.

Weise scored both Canadiens goals yesterday.  With Montreal down 1-0 with less than six minutes remaining in regulation, Weise scored and the game ended up going into overtime.  Continuing his heroics, Weise scored 8:47 into overtime, giving the Habs a 2-1 victory and a 3-0 series lead over the Ottawa Senators.

A somewhat unexpected hero after scoring just ten goals on the season, Weise isn’t new to heroics for the Habs.  Last season in Game 1 of the first-round series against Tampa Bay, he scored an overtime goal and the Canadiens went on to sweep the Lightning out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
