Hockey Card of the Day – Stanley Cup Playoffs Edition – Day 8

I’m convinced that Vladimir Tarasenko reads the blog.  I did not select him as the subject of my “Card of the Day” after he netted a hat trick in game three, so he came back to lead the way for St. Louis in game five.

Tarasenko scored two more goals, including a backhander on a breakaway where he skated away from two Minnesota defenders.  He now has five goals and an assist in the series.

His Young Guns rookie currently books at $40, but I expect that to go up in the near future.  As of this writing, you can find an eBay Buy it Now for as low as $27 (with shipping).  The fact that you can’t find them at half book anymore is among the reasons I expect the price to climb.  In January you could grab these for less than $10, but recently the price is in the $20-$25 range, with a few exceptions.

I can also confirm that his rookies are hot commodities because within the last week, I have traded away both this very card and also a Black Diamond.  I’m looking to replace these through more trades where I’m just attempting to collect trade bait.

Have a great day and enjoy tonight’s games!
