Hockey Card of the Day – Stanley Cup Playoffs Edition

Without doubt, the star of the first night of the 2015 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs was Chicago goaltender Scott Darling.  Starter Corey Crawford was pulled after a first period that saw him give up three goals and the Blackhawks down 3-0 in the game.

Darling stopped all 42 shots he saw in a game that went into double overtime.  His shutout performance allowed the Blackhawks to score four unanswered goals and win game one of the seven game series.

Chicago coach Joel Quenneville announced today that Corey Crawford will start the second game of the series tomorrow. This isn’t much of surprise to anyone. The speculation last night that Darling could start game two was downplayed by most.

One of the top cards for any player is their Upper Deck Young Guns card. How can this not be our hockey card of the day?

Before last night’s game, you could find these on eBay in the $3-6 range.  Since then, they have sold more in the $6-9 range.  Unless Crawford falls on his face again, you should be able to pick these up for under $5 again in under a week.

Enjoy tonight’s games!
