Admittedly, this isn’t going to be one of my more interesting posts. However, I know that I love seeing what others get in the mail and I’m sure others do as well. There’s nothing too awfully special in here, but I’m really excited about the three A.J. Foyt pickups.
This was the most expensive of the pickups in this post. I had passed on it a few times before, but the seller marked it down and I finally pulled the trigger at $4.25. The two that are in the eBay sold history sold at $7.52 and $9.99, so I am happy.
I was reading forum posts over the weekend and it appears that there are variations on these cards. Going to have to look further into it. I guess that would be a “rainbow,” right?
There are more than these two cards in the tribute set, but for whatever reason the seller didn’t want to come down on the price of the other ones that he had. I’ll just wait it out and I will end up with them sooner or later.
I was happy to pick up two of these cards cheaply. Andretti is my “other” favorite all-time driver and this card is from the year I was born. Per Beckett, the 48 card set was produced in England. It only has a handful of other athletes that I’ve heard of, including Muhammad Ali, Pele, Jack Nicklaus and Nick Faldo.

These were all picked up just in case I have a chance to get them autographed in Indy, or as potential TTM autos once I return. With the cards I’m interested in acquiring being tougher to find, I will need new “projects” to work on. I’m pretty close to starting the TTM thing.

Nice gets! It’s always intriguing to see racing cards from off the beaten path. Also, I’m pretty sure that’s the first time I’ve seen an IROC card on a card before.
