On Wednesday, I posted about picking up some 1980s hockey on Facebook. I was trying to figure out what the years were for the cards I was getting and in Google Images, this picture came up.
At one point in the 1990s, I had a really high percentage of Jeremy Roenick cards and I really couldn’t recall this. I clicked on the image and made my way to a great blog called “Puck Junk.” It took me to a post (Review: 2003-04 Topps Lot Rookies) and explained what they are, exactly. I will let you take a look over at their page if you are interested.
I decided for nostalgic reasons to go ahead and put this set together. I found a lot on eBay and picked up most of the cards in the set. I’ll probably go to COMC at some point to pick up the rest, which are pretty much the biggest ones in the set. It’ll be much cheaper than eBay to do it that way. In addition to the Roenick, the cards below were in the lot. If you didn’t already check out the Puck Junk post, perhaps seeing these beauties will. One thing I’d like is if they were actual cardboard, but it is what it is.
I hope you liked the quick look at the kinda/sorta past. If you like what we’re doing, please follow us on Facebook and Twitter and also look through some other pieces on the site. I’m still looking for more folks that would like to contribute, so let me know if you are! You can follow me on Twitter at @kin_kinsley, @beansbcardblog and @DFW_Card_Shows.
