I can’t say enough how much I love Vintage Breaks. I don’t participate often, but I’ve gotten into a couple of breaks and let me tell you, it’s a rush when they are opening packs that you have a spot in. I’ve been in modern breaks (and no longer participate) and they are nothing close to as exciting.
Vintage Breaks conducts live breaks of vintage sports cards on YouTube multiple times a week. Usually, they open a pack and a spot is sold for each card in the break. Occasionally there are other types of breaks, such as a personal break or a box break. If you don’t use YouTube much, you can also follow them on Twitter and Facebook and you’ll find live streams.
Something else I love is that the guys are excited themselves. You may have forgotten, but Vintage Breaks was breaking at the 2018 National and pulled an awesome card from a 1955 Bowman pack. If you haven’t seen it, you can view it here.
As a kid, it wasn’t exactly out of my price range. However, saving up and buying that meant that I would have had to pass on so much new stuff and that’s a sacrifice I didn’t want to make. Now, as an adult, I can easily afford one, but have just never pulled the trigger because there’s always something else I’m interested in. Wouldn’t it be much more exciting to get this from a pack break? Did I get lucky? Watch the video below to find out!
The Vintage Breaks team opens a huge amount of packs and I can’t even guess how many shipments they make per week. What I DO know is that I received my card, well packaged, in just a few days. The overall experience was great and honestly quicker than I expected. I will certainly join again.
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!
I did join in another type of “break” that Vintage Breaks runs from time to time. It wasn’t a pack break, but instead a random break that contained PSA and SGC graded cards of Lou Gehrig, Mickey Mantle, Roberto Clemente, Sandy Koufax and more.
My random number was about halfway through the break (#11) and none of the “big” cards had been drawn yet. My wife was watching with me and was laughing at me because of my excitement level. Finally it was time for my card and I feel that I must have looked like some cartoon and you could see my heart literally beating three feet out of my chest…
There you have it, my first two experiences with Vintage Breaks. Will I do it again? ABSOLUTELY! Not only are the breaks fun, but they give away a lot of random cards to those entering breaks. If you haven’t participated yet, you’re missing out!
Have you joined their breaks before? If so, have you hit it big? Please leave comments below.
If you shop online and haven’t signed up and used ebates yet, you’re missing out on FREE MONEY. I also use it on eBay to get money back from purchases there. Between referrals and cash back, I’ve gotten over $360 since I joined in October 2016 between purchases and referrals. FREE CARDS!
