Through The Mail (TTM) Autographs: Christmas Every Day

I love all aspects of collecting.  Buying packs and boxes.  Trading in-person and via the Internet.  I even love to sort those little pieces of cardboard over and over again.  But, at the top of my list has always been through the mail autographs (or TTMs).  It’s like Christmas every day when I go to the Post Office to check my mail as I never know what could be there.  It’s also a great and often inexpensive way to get some great signatures that I normally wouldn’t be able to obtain in-person.  Over the years I’ve gotten signatures TTM from athletes and celebrities including some very surprising stars.

Here’s a very brief list of some of the athletes I’ve gotten TTM:

  • Joe Theismann
  • Ben Roethlisberger
  • Mark Prior
  • Joe Mauer
  • Richard Petty
  • Mike Mussina

While I have gotten some celebrity signatures TTM, I won’t bore you with a list.  But, I will toot my own horn a little bit as I am very proud to say that I received a Mariska Hargitay (of Law & Order: SVU fame) black and white 8×10 photo signed by her and personalized to me TTM for less than $2.  This is one autograph that I will never part with.

In recent years though, I have slacked on sending TTM requests out but I recently decided to get back into it and am sending a small stack of requests out later today.  I thought I would also provide everyone with a list of athletes that I am sending requests to so that we can track them together.

This round I am only sending out baseball requests before it gets too late into the season.  Some of the names included are:  Matt Williams, Mike Trout, Jason Heyward, Tyler Clippard, Jose Altuve, and Brian Dozier.  I figured I would send a mixture of requests send to some superstars, reserves, and even a couple managers just to get back into the swing of things.

If you’d like to see how these and all of my future TTM requests are progressing, visit my website Jason’s TTM Requests.

Thanks for taking a look!  If you like what we’re doing, please follow us on Facebook and Twitter and also look through some other pieces on the site.  We’re still looking for more folks that would like to contribute, so let us know if you are!  You can follow me on Twitter at @jasondeanmartin or find me pretty much anywhere under the jasondeanmartin tag.  Happy collecting!
