You’ve probably seen a couple of posts on our site about how great of a through-the-mail signer Raymond Berry is. Perhaps I am wrong, but what Mr. Berry is to football signers, Bobby Doerr is to baseball signers. They both are legendary players in their sport. Both are still signing and both return requests very quickly.
Typically I prefer sending vintage cards to get signed. Doerr’s vintage cards were out of the price range that I’d send for an autograph so I picked up some more recent cards. I chose specific ones that might have more of a vintage “feel,” in that they were more artistic and/or did not have a glossy finish.
I am thrilled at how the cards turned out. I received the cards back in just under a month.
