Vintage Football Card of the Day #2 – 1972 Topps #200 Roger Staubach

The first Vintage Card of the Day represented Army and this post represents the Naval Academy.

Roger Staubach played at Navy from 1961-64 and won the Heisman Trophy in 1963.  He was drafted in both the NFL and AFL 1964 drafts, despite his military obligation.  He joined the Dallas Cowboys in 1969.

Staubach’s rookie card was in the 1972 Topps set and is the second of today’s Vintage Football Cards of the Day.  He had three “cards” issued in in 1970 and 1971, two team issues and an NFLPA stamp.
