For me, it’s not a COMC mailday without some former Mountaineers. This is the least I’ve had come in on an order, but I’ve not focused time into my WVU PC in…well…a couple of years. However, it doesn’t stop me from picking up items from time to time.
It’s not easy to come by Sam Huff cards in in West Virginia uniform. Just like with other older players, most cards depict the players in their pro uniforms and that really doesn’t do much for me. I’m going to have to go back and get as close to the rainbow on this card as I can. The set is from 2008 and with nine 1/1 cards, it is likely an impossible task. I was pretty happy to pick up both of these for less than $1.50.
I’m not even sure, but I may already have a copy of this card. Tom Keane only has two football cards (per the SCF database) and this is the cheaper of the two. I want to pick up a copy of the 1954 Bowman, but it seems that it’s an SP and it will cost more than this one did.
If you read most of my posts, you probably know that I’m a big fan of the Topps Heritage sets. This is the only Jedd Gyorko Heritage that I didn’t have yet. As much as I wanted one, I wasn’t going to overpay. I got this one for 63 cents during the Black Friday sale. Hopefully the move to St. Louis will help his career. It’s not like the Padres have a hitter-friendly ballpark.
