A Beckett Tour – in Four Minutes

It doesn’t much matter what I am looking at, hobby related.  I see a lot of vitriol out there toward Beckett.  However, I feel quite positive that 95% of those keyboard warriors would love the opportunity to visit Beckett headquarters and take a tour.

If you listened to the latest episode of the Beckett Radio show, you heard local sports talk personality Troy Hughes on the show talking baseball cards.  I loved as they busted a current product and his take on how different it is from when he was in the hobby.

Not only that, but Hughes got a tour of the facility (I’m admittedly jealous).  The four minute video was posted online here, if you want to take a look.

As a kid, one of the highlights of the month was when the newest issue of Beckett arrived.  With the advent of the internet, there are other ways to get the info and some of that luster has worn off.  I still frequent the Beckett site and social media pages, though.  Kids today will never know the struggle of waiting for each month’s issue to arrive.  They also will never truly enjoy looking at the up and down arrows on your favorite players’ cards the way we did when there were only a handful of sets each year.

We are always looking for more contributors. If you’re interested in writing, please let us know.

If you like what we’re doing and want updates when we post new pieces, follow us on Facebook and Twitter. Please take the time and also look through some other pieces on the site.  I’m still looking for more folks that would like to contribute, so let me know if you are!  If you live in the Fort Worth/Dallas area you can follow me @DFW_Card_Shows, as I will tweet about upcoming shows.  Also you can find links on our site to upcoming shows and also local card shops.
