The Mr. Carrie Underwood Trade #Mailday

I don’t get to peruse message boards like I used to, but I still get to them from time to time.  There was a collector on Sports Card Forum that was looking for Mike Fisher (or as I like to call him, Mr. Carrie Underwood) cards and I had pulled a Super Script out of some 2014-15 boxes I bought at Baseball Card Exchange before I moved to Texas.

I let him know and since he was interested, I took a look through his bucket and came across this:

2013-14 Panini Playbook Social Signatures #16 John-Michael Liles
2013-14 Panini Playbook Social Signatures #16 John-Michael Liles

John Michel-Liles cards aren’t in high demand or anything, but I have trouble finding them when I go to make trades.  The combination of not being a star player and being on the end of his career (resulting in fewer cards over the last few seasons) has made it tough to pick them up as throw ins.  Because of this, I don’t often get to add to my minor Liles player PC.

It’s no secret that I am not a big fan of Panini.  I know many are, but I’m just not too into their cards.  However, I thought that the “Social Signatures” sets were some of the best items they did.  Getting players to sign with their twitter handles doesn’t seem like anything interesting to most collectors, I’m sure.  However, it’s just a little something different and we’re in a time when a lot of products out there are starting to run together and all feel very similar.  A major criticism of mine about Panini is how many sticker autos they have.  However, this card is hard signed, so it’s certainly a win for me.

All I had to give up was a Mr. Carrie Underwood card and pay for shipping to Canada.
