Vintage Football Card of the Day – The First Football Card

If I asked you what the first football card was, could you tell me?

As obsessed as collectors are with rookie cards, you’d think that people might be more knowledgeable about the hobby’s rookie cards.  Upper Deck has done a solid job with their “Goodwin Champions” set.  When I used to hang out at Baseball Card Exchange in Indy, I know that people were excited when the set came out each year.  Today’s vintage card of the day comes from the 1887 Goodwin set and the subject is Henry Ward Beecher.
